Let’s Face It!

Skin CareHi there beautiful!

I’ve been missing in action but to my surprise and delight I continue to get readers stopping by daily here to read reviews and I owe it to you to continue the fun! So enjoy this post on my favorite Summer items that keep my face glowing!

Let’s start small…It’s Potent! Eye Benefit Cream from Benefit Cosmetics is a must-have! I’ve tried countless eye creams but the creaminess of this one and the results are worth owning. I tend to get a lot of dark circles because of lack of sleep and I’ve definitely noticed an improvement since I’ve started using this eye cream. It’s a brightening cream and I use it in the morning before my makeup and before I snooze off at night.

Next it’s the one and only Josie Maran Argan Oil! This is the kind of item that never gets old and last an eternity. A little goes a long way and it does go where you need it to go. I actually use this now as my night time routine. I used to use M.A.C’s Studio Moisture Cream but I found it to be too thick for night time I wanted something more light on my face. Since I have been so oily lately I’ve decided to provide my face with some hydration through oil so my face does not produce as much oil thinking it needs it. I have noticed improvement with my face not being as oily throughout the day but also the Argan Oil has kept my face feeling so soft and breakout free. Consistency is truly the key here, I never go to bed without cleaning my face and applying moisturizer so that overnight my face can recover and take a break.

Also, I’ve been using the Argan Oil on my hair after I wash it and my hair is looking better than ever. The Summer time is killer on my hair especially trying to keep my curls hydrated and trying to avoid frizz which seems impossible with 90-100 degree weather. But, the one thing I can say is that my hair is incredibly soft and my curls appear to have better elasticity- who doesn’t want bouncier curls? Hello!

The Argan Infinity Cream I use on my lips a lot. It’s the same texture as applying vaseline but this is petroleum-free. I also use this cream on my knees, heels of my feet, hands, and elbows. I love using Lush’s Lemony Flutter which is an amazing cuticle butter with a thick consistency. Whenever I’m using this Infinity Cream I always apply this to my cuticles as well. It quickly goes on and hydrates the cuticles for a quick fix, it’s very oily versus a butter formula like that from Lush. The plus about adding oil to your cuticles if they aren’t very smooth is that unlike a butter cream it’ll conceal better. But I love a butter cream because it sticks on better and I feel it’ll last throughout hand washes.

Lastly on the list, it’s Naked Skin Beauty Balm by Urban Decay. This Beauty Balm provides SPF 20  which is ideal for protecting your face since premature aging is caused by sun exposure. The other benefits from this Beauty Balm: minimizes pores, lines, wrinkles, and redness. I’ll admit that I love taking care of my skin because I truly believe if you start early the less you’ll have to do down the road. This Beauty Balm is tinted but goes on very light, blends in well. Also, I am not a full-coveraged foundation type of person because I don’t really need it. I apply full coverage foundation for the artsy side of makeup versus trying to conceal something. So, I am addicted to BB creams because I get a little color but the benefits are a plus with them. Another great thing is that for hot Summer days a lot of makeup does not feel pleasant so this Beauty Balm is just right!
